Peter, DL1FAA, had the opportunity to use this monster during the "Marconi"-CW-Contest on VHF in November 2009. It is owned by a hessian club and was originally used by the army ("Bundeswehr"). The club revamped the monster mounted on a big truck. For antenna mounting the tower in its minor form is tilted. Then it is swung upright and then: "Tower go!" ("Mast marsch") it erects.
Peter used two yagis and 600 W. Afterwards he grumbled about a lot of missing dB possibly due to misphasing the antennas when mounting and connecting them. At least he made 58311 kilometers with 190 qsos.
