SSB field day 2007

During the weekend of September 6th and 7th 2008 the local club R01 successfully participated in the 24 hours SSB part of the IARU region 1 field day with its contest callsign DA3X. Operators and participants on mounting and dismounting were Dieter (DL6EZ), Michael (DL5JS), Holger (DL5KUT), Rudolf (DL1EHR), Andreas (DO4FOO), Carsten (DH7YAX) and Andreas (DC4AB).
For the first time the new field day location at the Bergische Landstraße (Bundesstraße 7 between Düsseldorf and Mettmann, crossroads Zum Winnenberg) was used. The new location is 10.3 kilometers air-line distance away from the old location and with 128 meters of altitude it is 96 meters higher situated then the old location. (Google Maps)

CW field day 2008

During the weekend of June 7th and 8th 2008 DL0DX successfully participated in the 24 hours CW part of the IARU region 1 field day. Operators were Dieter (DL6EZ), Michael (DL5JS) and Holger (DL5KUT). On mounting and dismounting in addition Rudolf (DL1EHR) and Andreas (DC4AB) takes part. Like the years before the meadow next to the Rhine in Düsseldorf-Niederkassel was used as location. For the first time a 7.5 m high ladder was used as mast. An OM striked on this idea at the local club's meeting on May 15th 2008.

Participated in the Russian DX Contest

At the weekend on March 15th and 16th 2008 DL0DX participated in the Russion DX Contest. The competition ran 24 hours, DL0DX started in the High Power Class with two transmitters. The hard-working and successfully operators were Sandy (DL1QQ), Manfred (DK2OY), Holger (DL5KUT) and Dieter (DL6EZ). So 5.8 million points could be achieved.

Also Michael (DL5JS) was QRV at home.

Kale meal 2007

To this year's kale meal many members and friends of the local club got together again. In addition to the delicious kale at the Kolpinghaus in the south of Düsseldorf interesting conversations followed.

Stationplace was celebrating

The Heinrich Hertz vocational school celebrated its 50th anniversary with an open house on Friday, Sep. 14th 2007 and Saturday, Sep. 15th 2007.
Our club station is located on the top floor of this building. At this time we opened the door too and invited all visitors to snuffle and become acquainted with amateur radio!

SSB field day 2007

During the weekend of September 1st and 2nd 2007 DL0DX successfully participated in the 24 hours SSB part of the IARU region 1 field day. Operators and participants on mounting and dismounting were Dieter (DL6EZ), Michael (DL5JS) und Holger (DL5KUT), Rudolf (DL1EHR), Carsten (DH7YAX), Mirko (DM1EM) and Andreas (DC4AB). The field day location was again the meadow next to the Rhine in Düsseldorf-Niederkassel.

Cleaning

In preparation of the open house some members of the local club met on Saturday, August 25th 2007 to clean the station. After five hours of cleaning the station looked as good as new. Franc (DC9PI), Dieter (DL2GK), Burkhard (DK5JG), Manfred (DH9EO), Michael (DL5JS), Andreas (DC4AB), Manfred (DK2OY) and Holger (DL5KUT) assisted.

CW field day 2007

During the weekend of June 2nd and 3rd 2007 DL0DX successfully participated in the 24 hours CW part of the IARU region 1 field day. Operators were Dieter (DL6EZ), Michael (DL5JS) and Holger (DL5KUT). On mounting and dismounting in addition Rudolf (DL1EHR), Andreas (DC4AB) and Carsten (DH7YAX) takes part. The field day location was the meadow next to the Rhine in Düsseldorf-Niederkassel at the Rhine kilometer 747.

Storm damages

  • The antenna system for microwave operations at 23 cm, 13 cm, 9 cm, 6 cm and 3 cm was damages by the low-pressure system "Kyrill", which storms over the club station in the evening of 18 January 2007. It has to be disassembled.
