The repeater DB0SJ

The local club runs the Düsseldorf 70 cm repeater DB0SJ for years.

Details

Frequency:
Location: The city of Düsseldorf, on top of the high-rise building of the LVA, approx. 125 m over ground
Transceiver: ICOM IC-RP4020
Antenna: 2 m/70 cm duo-band vertical
Sub audio: no sub audio tone (CTCSS)
Activating: by carrier, no 1750 Hz tone needed

In southward, westward and northward direction, the repeater covers about 80 km, until into Belgium and the Netherlands. However, stations from the vicinity can dominant be heard. In eastward direction, the coverage bounds to 10-20 km, because Düsseldorf is located to the eastern border of the lower Rhine lowlands.

The repeater isn't connected to the EchoLink network, but in the proximity of the club station there is the EchoLink station DM0ZAA, which is operated by Rüdiger (DL4EAI).

Listen in

The transmission of the repeater can be heared via the Internet. *

Real time status: It was not possible to determine whether the repeater is active just now.

In addition to the high frequency transmission the output of repeater will be transmitted over the internet. The real time live recording is provided on different audio formats. Used are the speec codec Speex (0-16 kBit/s), the universal codec Vorbis (8-16 kBit/s) and alternatively the music codec MP3 (24 kBit/s). For playing back a streaming-capable audio programm such as VLC media player, foobar2000, MPlayer or xine is needed. Compared to the high frequency transmission the playback can be heard 8 to 20 seconds delayed, depending on the codec.

If currently nothing can be heard, this could be due to there is no communication via the repeater at the moment.

* The possibility to listen in is currently a test phase.

Workload

To see how much traffic is on which day of week or at which time of day the workload of the repeater is evaluated statistically here. Each activation of the repeater counts as use, regardless of whether someone actually is speaking or not.

Average repeater utilization by time of day

The percental workload of the repeater by time of day shows how much communication happens on the repeater at which time. 100 % correspond with 60 minutes and a full hour respectively. The time data are in local time.

Average repeater utilization by day of week

The percental workload of the repeater by day of week shows how much communication happens on the repeater at which day of week. 100 % correspond with 24 hours and a full day respectively.
