Hello and welcome!
This is the website of DARC chapter X06 “Soemmerda” which is the main city of the county Soemmerda located in the federal state Thuringia in the central part of Germany.
We are a club of about 20 hams coming from the whole county and the neighbouring region. Our clubcall is DR2Q. We are quite engaged in contesting but nevertheless keep it at hobby level. So we are (a little bit) proud about achieving some top results in the Thuringian district and even amongst the more than 1000 DARC clubs (still happy for achieving there rank 3 in the VHF contests in 2009 and 2010 again).
Sorry for not (yet) offering our site in english. But at least we´ll try to add some miscellaenous articles about our activities below.

Operating with a "mobile" tower - 40m unguyed
Not the usual kind of antenna support tested by Peter, DL1FAA. Its base is mobile but nevertheless as tough as the thing is - driving while operating is yet not recommended ;-)
The straight key-paddle by DL1AKK
It took Karl, DL1AKK, nine months to build this construction from a 6 millimeter thick plate of brass. "Necessary were only a drill and some good files" - the quiet builder says. You may judge by yourself how much more skill must have been needed. So let some pictures speak here.
