Worked All Germany Contest
The Worked-All-Germany Contest is a typical "Single-Country-to-DX" contest with a long lasting tradition and usually more than 1000 participants. There are at least three reasons to enter the WAG:
- Test your equipment for the upcoming CQWW which is usually in the week after WAG.
- Investigate the conditions to central Europe, generally similar to the condx during CQWW.
- Collect German DOK for several DARC wards, especially the DLD which is supported by the DARC Contest Logbook.
Moreover you will find an outstanding activity from Germany on all shortwave bands combined with moderate pileups and the bands not being too crowded. If you are operating from a semi rare country, like TK or EA8, you will certainly create some pile-ups yourselves.
As an international participant you have to work German stations and DARC districts for multipliers. There are 25 districts corresponding to different regions within Germany. Some districs are identical to a federal state, e.g. district W is associated with Saxony-Anhalt. Bigger federal states, e.g. Bavaria, are split into several districts. You can derive the district from the first letter in the DOK (e.g. W37) which is part of the contest exchange for German stations. The DOK ist a valueable information for many German awards too. Join the WAG and enjoy!
