Back to English Version DARC  Community Logbook (DCL)

The following awards of the German Amateur Radio Club (DARC) are issued by the DARC Committee for DX.
They may be applied by all licensed amateurs and SWLs.
All contacts must be made from the same country.
All cards or other written confirm ations must be in possession of the applicant.
Any submission of forged or altered cards lead to the disqualification from the awards program.
To qualify for the awards applicants must submit a GCR list.
This is a list of existing QSL cards which were verified by a club official, by two other licensed ham radio operators
or an official awards manager.
QSL card checkers have to compare all relevant data of the application like mode, band or date with the presented cards.
The checkers verify and confirm with signature and call sign that the information on the GCR list has been proved with QSL cards.
If the application is done by using the DCL (DARC Community Logbook) DCL-confirmed contacts and confirmed contacts imported from LoTW, eQSL an Clublog  are acc
epted too.
For these contacts a QSL must not be submitted.
Mixed applications of DCL-confirmed contacts completed with GCR confirmed QSL cards may be submitted as well.
The awards manager may request the submission for these QSL cards (T-QSL) for verification in principle.
If the applicant does not use a GCR list for submission, all
QSL cards have to be enclosed with the application for verification by the awards manager himself. Sufficient return postage for the cards has to be enclosed with the application.
If you are in doubt about the postage rates please ask in advance.

EUROPE - Award

EUROPE - Award

This certificate is awarded for working or hearing amateurs in European countries for a total score of at least 100 points.

Scoring: the idea is to work or hear as many European countries on different bands in different calendar years. There are no restrictions as to bands or modes.

Annual score: each confirmed country of WAE-Countrylist counts one point per year on each amateur band. Only the current and the five previous years are valid. Contacts older than five years are no longer countable

Total score: sum of the annual score for the year of application and the five preceding years.

EUROPE AWARD HONOR ROLL

Each certificate holder with an actual score of at least 300 points becomes eligible for the Honor Roll, which is published regularly in "CQ DL",and on the homepage of the DARC Committee for DX and HF-Contesting.
Cards can be submitted each year, before December 31st to be considered for listing in the Honor Roll.

EUROPE 300 TROPHY (Plaque)

Holders of the Europe Award may obtain the Europe 300 Trophy. Applicants must achieve 300 country points. Each country on each band counts only once in all the years. Example: 50 countries on 6 bands = 300 points. 10 countries on 9 bands + 20 countries on 6 bands + 15 countries on 5 bands +  5 countries on 3 bands = 300 points.

Europe-DX-Award (EU-DX-D)

Europe-DX-Award (EU-DX-D)

Rules EU DX D

The basic idea of this award is a proportional combination of European and DX contacts in one calendar year.

It is issued for the following classes: 2x CW, 2x SSB and mixed modes
A minimum of 50 points is required for the EU-DX Award per year;

20 points must be obtained by contacts with European countries and 30 points by contacts with countries outside Europe.

Each country counts one point for 40 through 10 meters, and two points on 80 and 160 meters.

All bands may be used.

European countries are defined in the WAE country list, non-European countries in the valid DXCC list.

Bonus points can be obtained for any additional block of four European and six non-European countries within the same calendar year.
Each year's score may be added to obtain the EU-DX 500 badge, stickers will be awarded for any block of 50 points, regardless of the annual scores.

Example:

 20 EU-points 2001 + 30 DX-points 2001 = 50 points for 2001,
 28 EU-points 2000 + 42 DX-points 2000 = 70 points for 2000,
 32 EU-points 1999 + 48 DX-points 1999 = 80 points for 1999,

total 200 points, i.e. four stickers.

EU-DX 1000 TROPHY (Plaque)

The trophy is awarded for a total of 1000 points, regardless of how many years are needed.

  • WAE III,
  • WAE II,
  • WAE I ,
  • WAE-TOP und
  • WAE-TROPHY

The different classes require the number of WAE countries and bandpoints as tabulated below. Each WAE country counts for one point, but a maximum of 5 bandpoints may be used for one country.

The WAE is issued in the following modes: CW, SSB, Fonie, RTTY, FT8, Digital and Mixed Modes.

ClassCountriesBandpoints
WAE III40100
WAE II50150
WAE I60200

Holders of the WAE I will receive a special WAE badge.

WAE-TOP Plaque

Unlike for the WAE I-II, deleted countries do not count for the WAE-Top plaque. The WAE-Top plaque requires 70 WAE countries and 300 bandpoints.

WAE-Trophy

For the WAE Trophy all countries which are listed on the WAE Country List at the time of the application are valid. Deleted countries may not be counted. To apply for the WAE Trophy confirmation of contacts with every country on the WAE Country List is required on any five bands, and 365 bandpoints are required. All amateur radio bands are allowed. Stickers will be issued for the confirmation of contacts with each country on six or more bands.

WAE Classic

This WAE award will be issued with the original rules. The WAE Classic is a single mode award issued in 2x CW or 2x Phone in the WAE Classes I, II or III. WAC-Diplom

WAC-Diplom

Rules WAC-Award (Worked All Continents)

In recognition of international two-way amateur radio communication, the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) issues Worked-All-Continents (WAC) certificates to amateur radio stations of the world.

Qualification for the WAC award is based on an examination by the International Secretariat, or a member-society, of the IARU of QSL cards that the applicant has received from other amateur stations in each of the six continental areas of the world. All contacts must be made from the same country or separate territory within the same continental area of the world.

All QSL cards (no photocopies) must show the mode and/or band for any endorsement applied for.

Contacts made on 10/18/24 MHz or via satellites are void for the 5-band certificate and 6-band endorsement. All contacts for the QRP endorsement must be made on or after January 1, 1985 while running a maximum power of 5 watts output or 10 watts input.

The following information should be helpful in determining the continental area of a station located adjacent to a continental boundary.

  • North America includes Greenland (OX) and Panama (HP).
  • South America includes Trinidad & Tobago (9Y), Aruba (P4), Curacao & Bonaire (PJ2-4) and Easter Island (CE0).
  • Oceania includes Minami Torishima (JD1), Philippines (DU), Eastern Malaysia (9M6-8) and Indonesia (YB).
  • Asia includes Ogasawara Islands (JD1), Maldives (8Q), Cyprus (5B, ZC4), Eastern Turkey (TA2-9) and Georgia (4L).
  • Europe includes the fourth and sixth call areas of Russia (R1-6), Istanbul (TA1), all Italian islands (I) and Azores (CU).
  • Africa includes Ceuta & Melilla (EA9), Madeira (CT3), Gan Island (8Q), French Austral Territory (FT) and Heard Island (VK0).
