A hell of a weather! Thunderstorm after thunderstorm! The first one came just at the start of the contest. Then before night another one, so I was off by night. Then on Sunday, I had to stop 7 hours before ending. I was all wet and tired of carying equipement here and there. I was using FT-450, powered with 1000W Honda generator and home made Rybakov 806 Multiband antenna, wich performed unexpectedly nice. N1MM Logger on my Dell Notebook performed well. It was very vivacious contest! Hope to see you next year!

Wir wollten weniger Aufbaustre? und haben uns diesmal f?r di e non-assisted Klasse entschieden. Und richtig, der Aufbau von Ulis Eigenentwicklung (2 x 40m Dipol) ?ber Antennenkoppl er gespeist, erwies sich als schnell aufgebaut und im Betrie b erstaunlich leistunmgsf?hig! Also, vor dem Contest noch g en?gend Zeit sich mit dem Logbuchprogramm zu ?ben und f?r Bi er und W?rstchen bei (noch) herrlichem Sonnenschein. Doch 2 h nach Contestbeginn ?berraschten uns heftigste Gewitter und wolkenbruchartige Regenschauer. Die Antenne hat nun wirkli ch gefunkt, so dass der Betrieb f?r 1,5h eingestellt werden musste. Sonntags haben wir und einige G?ste Hartmuts exquis it gegrillte Leckereien geniessen d?rfen. Das Ergebnis war besser als im Vorjahr und nicht auszudenken, wenn wir nicht h?tten unterbrechen m?ssen! Vielen Dank f?r den Spa? den wi r miteinander hatten an Uli, Sebastian, Michael, Hartmut, He rbert und unsere Besucher!

RIG - FT-817 (5W), ANT TH3MkIII, low band dipoles We get bored with constantly high scores in 100W class for past several years and decided to try something new, namely, participating in QRP class instead. Heavy rain which flooded our tent and huge lightnings in the vicinity of our site postponed our start - we switched everything off and fired barbecue instead. After all, we aren't score addicted but our main goal is rather to gather together socialising, enjoying ourselves and to have some fun making contacts. Family members (Anka, S57ONE with sons Viktor and Aleksander, Dolores with harmonics Lana and Luka, S59AV' daughters Angela and Julija, S53AU's son Martin and Boris' children Rok and Maja) brought additional pleasure and made us feeling a big ham family indeed. Sunday afternoon another thunderstorm approached so we dismantled our tent (in order not to get wet again) and continued till the end of contest without any shelter.

Schlechter Start mit starken Gewittern, abgerissener Antenne und auch noch OP Ausfall. Ganz gute Bedingungen, aber relativ wenig Angebot. Offensichtlich waren sehr viele vor der Glotze wegen EM Er?ffnungsspiel. Am Sonntagmorgen wurden wir dann auch noch vom Platzeigent?mer mit rund 350 Mann eingenommen, so dass wir kampflos das Feld r?umen und abbrechen mussten. Wenigstens waren wir kurzzeitig Deutschlands bewachtester Fielddayplatz.

Gro?e Probleme mit der Matchbox - offensichtlich hat sie beim Mastabsturz vom letzten Jahr doch mehr Schaden genommen, als vermutet - verursachten rund 2 Stunden Ausfallzeit und dann ging es auch nur mit 30W auf 160m und teilweise 6 S-Stufen Empfindlichkeitsverlust auf 20m. Statt des bei DK0V/p geplanten Staffellaufs wurde es ein Hindernislauf! Insofern gro?e Freude, dass wir es doch noch auf knapp 1.000 QSOs ge- bracht haben - unser zweitbestes FD-CW-Ergebnis bisher.

FT2000 100w rig, 60ft mobile tower, Force 12 beam, caravan, 40/80m, 160m dipoles,3kw petrol generator. NFD this year was murphy free! 160m was a dream to operate on. E's on 10m band was open most of the weekend. WX was sunny, hot, no thunderstorms like other years. BBQ and camp fire on Friday night, Sunday we had Breakfast of black pudding, eggs, bacon, fried bread, beans,mushrooms, etc. Lovely. Es hat wieder eine Menge Spa? gemacht. Mit dem Wetter hatten wir recht viel Gl?ck, trotz starker Unwetter in der Umgebung gab es bei uns nur kurzzeitig Regen. Kurz vor Kontestende hagelte es, aber Sch?den waren keine zu verzeichnen. Der Abbau konnte dann wieder bei Sonnenschein stattfinden.
Die B?nder waren annehmbar gef?llt, zeitweise jedoch starkes "Gewitterprasseln".
Im September folgt der zweite Teil!

Mehr Erlebnis als Ergebnis - muss wohl so sein beim QTH-Test am "Galgenh?gel", den sich zum gr??ten Teil Tierheim, st?dtische M?lldeponie und Tierfriedhof teilen. Beim Ankommen am sp?ten Samstagabend stellte sich auch noch heraus, dass die Spitze mit einer gro?en Techno-Party belegt war. Dann noch Mastbruch beim Aufbau einer improvisierten Notantenne f?r 80/160 und R?ckzug ohne QSO in anges?uerter Stimmung.
Da dem OV aber ein Einsatz versprochen war, am n?chsten Morgen eine L?cke am Rand der nur leicht ausged?nnten Partyzone f?r eine 40m-Zepp genutzt. Daf?r gab?s dann von einem nur 10m entfernten Lautsprecher vier Stunden lang Techno - schalldichtes Einschlie?en im Auto w?re bei dem Wetter aber noch schlechter gewesen. Hat trotzdem noch Spa? gemacht - Fieldday halt...

Am Sonnabend wurde ab 10 Uhr bei sch?nstem Sonnenschein aufgebaut. Der Antennenaufbau lief mit 11 Mann problemlos ab, doch leider verabschiedete sich kurz vor Contest-Start der Logging-PC mit einem blue screen. Mit Not-Laptop ohne DX-Cluster ging's in den Contest.
Wenn wir vorher gewu?t h?tten, da? 10m in der zweiten Stunde so gut l?uft, h?tten wir - bei nur 14 QSO's - in der ersten Stunde nicht soviel Zeit sinnlos auf diesem Band vergurkt. Sp?ter lief's zunehmend besser, am Ende kamen 907 QSOs ins Log.
Der Spa? kam beim Grillen am Lagerfeuer auch nicht zu kurz. Na dann - cuagn in September!

W?hrend des Aufbaus und insbesondere in der Nacht war der Fieldday eine ziemlich nasse Angelegenheit. Zum Gl?ck zogen die Gewitter um uns herum, so dass das zum gr??eren Teil neue Operator-Team die 24 Stunden durcharbeiten konnte. Probleme bereitete der erstmals im Einsatz befindliche automatische Tuner, so dass wir auf 3 B?ndern nur eine deutlich reduzierte Leistung in die Antenne bringen konnten. Die Software machte im Zusammenspiel mit dem WinKey mehrfach einen Restart n?tig, und die ?Neu-Operators? hatten anfangs auch noch den ?blichen Kampf mit den Tasten des Logcomputers.... Vor dem n?chsten Fieldday werden noch einige Tests und Optimierungen am Equipment notwendig, um die technischen Widrigkeiten abzustellen. Insgesamt hat es gro?en Spa? gemacht, und ganz speziell sind auch die Kochk?nste unseres OVVs hervorzuheben, der aus dem Fieldday wieder ein kulinarisches Highlight gemacht hat.
