Dazu gehören eine Sony PTZ-HDMI-Kamera und Tri-Band-Handfunkgeräte. Alle Funkamateure sind herzlich eingeladen. Das ATV-Freitagabendessen findet am Freitag, dem 15. Mai, um 18:30 Uhr im China Garden Buffet Restaurant (937-781-9999), 112 Woodman Drive in Dayton, Ohio 45431 (Airway Shopping Center) statt. Das All-you-can-eat-Buffet kostet 18 $. Nach dem Abendessen finden ATV-Präsentationen statt, die um 21:00 Uhr enden. Alle sind herzlich eingeladen. Es werden Geschenke an die Gäste verlost.
Am Samstag findet außerdem von 11 bis 12 Uhr im Konferenzraum Nr. 4 ein ATV-FORUM statt. Hier ist die Zusammenfassung dazu:
„Diskutieren Sie gemeinsam mit Art Towslee (WA8RMC), Darco Banko (OE7DBH), Joel Wilhite (KD6W), Mike Collis (WA6SVT/VP6MC) und Dave Pelaez (AH2AR) über digitale ATV-Geräte und DATV-Sender. Es wird eine Fortsetzung der Diskussion vom letzten Jahr über digitales ATV geben sowie Informationen zu DATV-Repeater-Konzepten. Die Referenten werden eine Reihe verschiedener DATV-Codierungs- und Modulationstechniken sowie die DVB-T2-Installation auf Pitcairn Island und einige interessante Aktivitäten auf der Insel behandeln. Auch EXCELLENT DX wird thematisiert.“

Video aus der Stratosphäre
Nach der erfolgreichen Bergung der Nutzlast des auf dem FUNK.TAG Kassel gestarteten Stratosphärenballons konnten die Datenspeicher der Bordkamera ausgewertet werden. Letztere hatte während des gesamten Flugs rund vier Stunden Videomaterial aufgezeichnet. Aus dem Material hat Manuel Bülo, DO5TY, ein Video zusammengestellt:

ARISS radio contact between OR4ISS and ON4ISS on May 22, 2026
Astronaut Sophie Adenot, amateur radio call sign KJ5LTN, will operate the amateur radio equipment aboard the International Space Station. Sophie will answer questions from students in Argentina during this live amateur radio contact. The ARISS telebridge ground station ON4ISS in Belgium is conducting this radio contact for Colegio San Lucas in Tigre, Buenos Aires. This live radio amateur contact is scheduled for Friday May 22, 2026 at 17:19 UTC.
You can listen live to astronaut Sophie Adenot on board the ISS at145.800 MHz (plus/minus 3kHz Doppler shift). English is the expected language of communication in this amateur radio contact.

The ARISS program is aimed at students and enthusiasts and aims to inspire them in the study of sciences with this amateur radio activity. The demonstration of amateur radio communication from space invites schools and universities to make use of these educational technical resources. ARISS bereitet sich auf Amateurfunkkommunikation vom Mond aus vor
Während ihres Vortrags auf der Hamvention mit dem Titel "ARISS: 25 Jahre auf der ISS und Pionierarbeit für neue Raumfahrtmöglichkeiten für Funkamateure und Jugendliche" gab ARISS die Gründung von "Amateur Radio Exploration", kurz AREx, sowie ihre Zusammenarbeit mit der NASA bekannt. Diese könnte innerhalb künftiger Mondmissionen eine mögliche Amateurfunkpräsenz auf dem Mond zur Folge haben. AREx ist ein gemeinsames Konsortium von AMSAT und ARISS. Obwohl zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt noch nichts feststeht, spekulierte ARISS über die Art der Funkausrüstung, die es Funkamateuren ermöglichen könnte, über den Mond zu kommunizieren. Das Projekt könnte CAVIAR lauten und bedeutet übersetzt Kommunikation, Audio, Video und Bildgebung mittels Amateurfunk. Mit dabei sein könnten Kameras für die Bildgebung von Erde, Mond und Fahrzeugen, die Unterstützung von Sprache, digitalen Daten und Video, HF-Links auf 10 und 5 GHz, unterstützt durch ein Netzwerk von Bodenstationen. Laut dem Vortrag sollte man die ARISS-Webseite für Ankündigungen in der Zukunft im Auge behalten. Darüber berichtet Ham Radio Daily.

Ich habe erfahren, dass unser BATC-Präsident, Dave Mann, G8ADM, friedlich im Schlaf verstorben ist.
Daves Beerdigung findet am 4. Juni um 10:15 Uhr im Chiltern Crematorium in Amersham statt; anschließend geht es weiter im „The Crown Inn – Courtyard Room“ in Amersham. Die Zeremonie wird auch online übertragen. Live-Übertragung:
